Personal Data Protection (KVKK)

1. Objective and Scope

Bursa Technical University (BTÜ) Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) places the utmost importance on the processing, preservation, and protection of the personal data of its students and applicants in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data Collection Methods and Processed Data

We automatically and manually collect standard academic data, including but not limited to:

• Identity details (Name, Surname, Passport Number, Nationality)
• Contact details (Email, Phone address)
• Academic performance (Placement test scores, attendance ratios)
• Financial documentation for course enrollments.

3. Purpose of Data Processing

Your personal data is processed strictly for academic administration, maintaining attendance logs, issuing Ministry of Education approved language certificates, generating Visa Acceptance letters, and managing regulatory compliance reporting.

4. Data Transfer and Third Parties

Where mandated by law, biometric and passport records may be securely transmitted to the Directorate General of Migration Management (Göç İdaresi) or the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). BTÜ TÖMER does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to unrelated private entities without explicit consent.

5. Your Rights as a Data Subject

In accordance with Article 11 of the KVKK, you reserve the right to:

• Inquire whether your personal data is being processed
• Request information regarding the purposes of processing
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request the deletion or destruction of your data under the framework provided by Article 7.
